A late 70s Cambrian - plenty of sulzer 2 action before those EE Type 3 flypaper engines turned up

Look on the bright side guys. At least set in the era that it is you'll have the maximum amount of track, sidings etc.
Surely little of the infrastructure on this line got totally modernised?
You can run what you like on it unless you're a totally obsessive rivet counter
Even Then you could go into AE and put weeds all over the non existent sidings of the modern era

Don't worry Geoff - I'm quite used to modernising lines on MSTS!lateagain wrote:Look on the bright side guys. At least set in the era that it is you'll have the maximum amount of track, sidings etc.

You can make it modern in 4 steps:
1. Delete all signals and replace with stop boards
2. Delete about 100 miles of track (roughly half the available route mileage)
3. Delete the majority of sidings and loops so that there's little opportunity for AI traffic. First loop will be Welshpool, then Newtown, then Talerddig.
4. Place modern houses or flats on the former railway yards.
I'd say that there's probably a little over a weekend of work to do.
My guess is that the majority of people will prefer the route as it was before the cuts, even if they do choose to drive Sprinters or 37s on it.

Is there any chance UKtrainsim will be getting it on their CD ordering page as I do not have a credit/debit card and I'm comfortable with using UKtrainsim (the months premium membership is VERY useful when the activity packs start coming out)
Many thanks

Well it's great that you've detailed this Martin......

........because it's why I keep banging on about transition era. The less track and sidings the less "Railway Activity".....which is what a rail simulator is about isn't it...MartinH wrote:You can make it modern in 4 steps:

Under the credit cards it tells you how to order if you haven't got one. It will obviously take longer as you'll have to post the PO to them and then wait for the disc to be mailed back.

Hi All
Wonderful news - I just received my Cambrian 2 Route this morning - I reckon that's one heck of a record having it all the way down in Western Australia so I am probably the first to receive the Route both in Australia and in the UK
It's 11.00am Tuesday morning here (4.00am UK time) so I have lots of time to have a look today.
Now to installing it and running those Dukedogs - really looking forward to driving from Shrewsbury after seeing all Martin's screenshots.
Regards
Mike

Only problem I have found is the great white void at Oswestry no ground texture until you get to milepost 19.
