Steam Loco Cabviews

Post by dforrest »

I am spending hours sitting looking at the Scotsman cabview an know that I am not looking at a cabview which is realistic for the loco I am driving (it is not Scotsman). To me, this is the most unrealistic aspect of MSTS.

I have from other downloads etc., caviews for Britania/9F, Garratt, Kitson, UMogul, K39/K3/K4, Schools and Johnson.

Does anyone know of sources for any others?

Try http://vh24.free.fr they have some decent cabs (left hand side) that go well with the smaller type engine.
Go to "telechargement" and "vapeur" (I'm sure it's correct!!!) and you will find that each train has a separate cabview . There is a 2-8-2 french mikado coming out on that site and it will also have a separate cab.
Worth a try....

The 3D Trainstuff UK cd has some good cabs, though this is payware and expensive at 60 dollars. I bought it in a mad moment [after a win on the horses] because I too am sick of the Scotsman cab, also it is the only place to get a Fowler 0-6-0 tank. The cabs are Fowler 3F/4F, GW King, Stanier Pacific, A4 and Kitson tank. Worth considering if you are rich.

The Kitson is a free download at 3D Trainstuff and the cab is a very nice one for small engines.

Kim Durose has done a very nice Schools cab - which is also free.

Does anyone have a photo or other reproduction of an A4 cabview?

Richard Scotts Midland Spinner cab is nice for a different feel - open sided and quite light inside (red and cream rather than the Scotsman which feels like a tank commanders turret).

Correction:

"The Kitson was a free download at 3D Trainstuff and the cab is a very nice one for small engines."

It no longer is.
