Now I'm not too interested in the late 80s style trains despite growing up around B'ham in the 80s and 90s - I would rather see the current crop of trains (ie Virgin/Central etc) included as I can relate more closely to these as my train travelling mainly started in the mid-late 90s.

Ive just seen an update on the EB website, looks like its the intercity 390 and HST, NSE 321 and an AI only Underground unit.
http://www.europeanbahn.com/eb_wcml_Update.htm
I think the route looks quite promising, although the stock isnt my cup of tea. I lived in Leighton buzzard during the Intecity/Virgin changover period, when Mk2 sets ruled the line to brum and you could still take a Silverlink right up into New Street, not Northampton where they now mostly terminate! Shame the 323 wont be included, thats going to be a big gap to fill for modern activity writers. I suppose well have to go back a few years to when Class 312s and 310s where about! Anyone for a canary yellow reskin...

Looking forward to the route very much though, I think they did a generally good job of ECE. Euston-Brum is generally 1hr30-40mins for an intercity schedule, a decent time to be driving in th sim before you get bored!
Is the Northampton Loop going to be included, or will it come later does anyone know?

They may be plastic, but I love them for two reasons.....
1. When I was younger I did London-Lime Street via crewe, and it took nearly 5 hours, was too hot and not much fun all round. It was IC MK2 or 3's behind, well I don't know, not an IC125 anyway, sorry I was like 12.
Last year I got a pendy from MancPicc-Euston and I barely noticed the journey so swift and comfy was it.
2. They are the b*st*rd[1] offspring of APT.
I have much love of LHCS, but for long runs, you have to go with what's quickest and smoothest.
And I admit they pong.
Anyway, that's the cool thing about simming, you can run a steamer, a Loco hauled blue era express and a modern fast mover like a pendy consecutively, or even concurrently.
[1] Hope that's OK to say in it's more correct and non-sweary context.

Since the 323 won't be included, hopefully someone here will be able to release two,
Edit: At the moment, it seems that you can't download a 323 from UKTS as one hasn't been done yet. There is the 320's, 321's, 322, 322/4 and a dated 325. I know Central Trains run a few in Centro livery and Northern Rail will be doing a few in their livery, so maybe one might get released in time for the relase of the addon,

Hee hee, I did much the same move on a Pendo from Euston to Wolverhampton via Nuneaton and I was hunting for the razor blades by the end of itthegoonden wrote:They may be plastic, but I love them for two reasons.....

Hehe. Why not - You can always change the stock mate. I changed the default trains for the FCC and GNER Freeware ones on the East Coast Express and its improved my enjoyment. For me - its going to be good old BR era as I am not into those plastic bunny's that Virgin Operate on the WCML to be honest. I know they are more comfy and modern over the Loco-Hauled stuff that I used to travel on many moons ago but they just don't have the charactar like the BR trains used to haverowan826 wrote:I won't be buying this route as I really hate the stock and scenery from London to Birmingham is boring.

I hope that's an old screenshot as - correct me if I am wrong - there shouldn't be wires there. After successfully taking the wires away in ECE3, you hope they've done the same with this route.

As for stock, like Jamie I wouldn't mind seeing some stock in the West Midlands livery, but I hope someone out there has a go at Porterbrook-liveried 87002 as again, correct me if I am wrong, but that was the last passenger service 87 on the London to Birmingham run.
