I have windows ME and use system restore a lot with my MSTS it has got me out of a lot of scrapes in the past.
However last weekend I had to use my Time Computer reload disk and I cannot get my system restore to operate.
The folder when viewed on the C drive is very insipid ( as if the instruction cut has been applied) and when I operate system restore "restore my computer to an earlier date" the moving bar only crosses half way across the screen and when the computer reboots I am given the message that this restore date could not be applied.
Does anybody know the cure? Or what is going wrong.
(I have reloaded reload disk twice)

What exactly is on your "time" disc.Is it an OEM copy of ME?
Computers are dumb. Each time you install a new program it sets a restore point.
If you have a wrecked system, and you try reinstalling, you may get a restore point,of your bad data. Thus any future restore, can end you up at square one, back to bad.
If it is an OEM disc, you may have to reinstall,or use repair option. This will only fix your OS though, and not any other programs you have on your computer.
Check with Tiny first,as they may have "tailored" ME to their specs.
It is Time,or any other proprietary computer manufacturer, that is responsible for your copy of ME,if OEM,not Microsoft. They only support full retail software purchases.
I built one of my systems, along with an OEM XP disc,so I guess as an OEM "manufacturer" I provide my own support.
Looks like you'r heading for a new "clean" install.Happens to the best of us.
PS always set a restore point, before playing about,or when everything is OK.
