Problem with saves on Cannock Chase 5: Shunting at Walsall.

Post by earwigo »

Whenever I try to restore a save in the above Activity, the computer crashes with the message: 'Train world initialization failed'. I am using Train Store, and do not have problems with other routes. Can anyone suggest why this may be happening, please?
Many thanks,
Stuart. :-?

Hi there,

If my memory serves me well there is a lot of AI movements on this activity on a high object count tile.

Try turning your settings down a notch to see if it will reload.

Once you've unhooked from the original consist and start using the front coupler you really need to complete the activity in one go i tried on various routes i do have the bin patch installed and i too have save problems. Which is why im having a break from American Shunting activities as the last time i tested an act with alot of shunting in i gave up after 4 hours because i couldnt reload after saving.

Many thanks for your various replies. I still cannot get this one to save and restore properly, which is a shame as it's a good activity. At least the other CC5 acts. work O.K.

Hi there,

It is an activity worth perservering with......

If you can get some time to make a fresh start at it, Peter did do an exceptional job of timing the AI's. It is also part of a set of sequential activites........all to a very high standard.
