Hi,
After installing the CD version of Thames Mersey 4.2, on some of the activitys when i bring up the next station feature all the text has dissappered along with the time. Also when i try to bring up the consist view (F9) it comes up with an error message saying that it cant find it. Is there any simple fix or would i need to re-install all of MSTS.
Cheers
Chris

Are they freight activities? Freight activities do not have anything in the next station stop box and so the box can be closed. Im not sure about the consist view F9 - does that happen on everything or just a particular consist?

Are you using trainstore? If so try unstoring everything. You could also download and install route-riter which can check and sometimes fix all manner of problems. Run that against the Sim and see what errors it gives, then come back and post them and we'll have another look.

I have checked the route in route-riter and it has come up saying that are no errors. The text has come back after I've installed the lastest MSTS bin patch but it still dissappears in some of the passenger activitys which i try to do.

This could be because you have reached the last station, and your not timetabled to stop at any others
Also when i try to bring up the consist view (F9) it comes up with an error message saying that it cant find it
This could be because your missing the ACE. file from...
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\GUI\DRIVERAIDS
Try downloading this and see what happens...

the timetable/next station comes up blank when i first bring it up at the start of the activity, but any messages also come up with no text but just a blank box.
I'll try the download nad hopefully it will ressolve one part of my problem.
cheers

If message boxes are blank also that points towards a corrupt installation of MSTS. This might be one of the very few instances where a reinstall may be necessary

Your not accidently clicking on 'Explore Route' after you've run trainstore, when I first got Trainstore, I would select the route & activity, then go into TrainSim then accidently click on the explore option, get into the route and think to myself 'eh?'

Ive tried the download and it worked fine but the consist view still does come up with a 'load button error' now and again.
With the dissapperaing text, it has only recently started happening with Thames Mersey 4.2, could there be something in the installation that my MSTS doens't like or needs updating to comply wih thames mersey?

The symptoms you are describing can sometimes occur when your pc is running short of resources, especially memory.
Make sure you are using Train Store, so you are not loading unnecessary files with MSTS.
I would also recommend a reboot before you run MSTS and if the symptoms still persist try closing down a lot of the programs that load up with Windows. The best way of doing this is by using msconfig which you can access via the run command.
Additionally turning the sliders down in options may help.

This sounds like some of the symptoms of the too-many-consists-bug. If you load only one activity using Trainstore and nothing else, do you get the same issues?

Just save the activity, shut down MSTS, reboot you PC and return to your saved activity. Its not about Trainstore or consists. This happens to me from time to time and, as has been said, it is probably lack of memory. It should come good wihth the restart.
