the msts Flying Scotsman is one also you could use an A4 streamlined loco.. Sir Nigel Gresley, Bittern or any one of the preserved steam A4's.. These days though any steam loco from British Railways will do as they all run anywhere these days. Jubilee, West Country, BR class 9. quite a large number available

I'd just pick anyone you fancy that performs how you want it to, from the file library. if its an excursion or railtour anything goes :)

Good Choice Carl. These were "the mutt's nuts" when I was young and actually hauled express trains out of Liverpool Street before the end of Steam. Every lad of my generation new about "Brittanias" and their popularity was enhanced by Hornby making a OO model of them.

If you wanted to duplicate your activity to use some payware stock the Blue Arrows B1s, another Eastern Region Regular are brilliant models and come on a CD with loads of stock too. Plenty of reskins on BA site for the B1's too. One of my favourite kettles. I've already run it over the GE using AI from an activity (using Train Store) and it performs very well.

Hate to say it, but thats just going to make it incredibly similar to this

Worth using a different loco, no matter how appropriate 70013 is?

Erm, don't know if it's going to be black again, but it's currently under restoration to main line running. :D

Carl - why not pick something a bit smaller and add an edge to the activity by making it hard to drive. A less powerful loco with a 10 coach heavy train will be a challenge for anyone :)

The Scots Guardsman model is not authentic, the real loco is rather different, and the model here is just a Jube with a different boiler.

How about these locos regularly seen on excursions around the country;

(This one's now in a different livery and named the Sherwood Forrester)

This would be more a challenge being a smaller class 4.

A popular 1970s/80s performer

A superb model, and a good one to drive not as fast as the pacifics being a class 5 but a good little puller- I'd use this one given the choice!

Why not use a B1 - they pretty well ran the GE steam passenger service before the Brittania's came along, with the B2/B17s.

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558

Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

For Great Eastern, you can't go wrong with 60009 or 60800.

60800 has been changed back to 4771.
