Hi everyone,

I have been thinking of getting the payware route called London South Coast Route for a while and I would like to hear some opinions on this route from people who have this route already.

How is the detail, How many miles, and so forth?

Would appreciate the opinions. Thanks

Details up to the usual Europeanbahn standard (IE not the most exciting or thorough, but average enough), however the stock is rather nice. Personally though, if you are after something based on the Southern network, you'd be better off getting London South East (LSE). Far more detailed, far more stock, and in a proper era ( 1970s/80s! )

I'd second that; if you like nice scenery anda variety of lines within the route LSE is leagues ahead.

Having both, I too agree with LSE ahead of LSC. LSC is not a bad play, so if you already have LSE then get it. Otherwise go with LSE first.

Does LSC go to London Bridge? Or is it just Victoria-Brighton/Portsmouth with the line via Horsham thrown in?

It doesnt have London Bridge included. It has london-portsmouth and brighton via horsham and the hove curve. Norwood Junction is also included

It also still uses that nasty MSTS track instead of UKFineScale

Does LSC look as bad as East Coast Express?

i think they have improved since the release of ECE, but by how im not going to say becuase i hate doing that sort of thing. But once youve changed the track textures, the route looks better anyways :)

LSE over LBE

Hi there,

I agree with you all. The objects and track in LSE is so much better than in the LBE, and the south coast version.

I didnt get the south coast, as for that reason. The buildings and track are pretty poor, and also I like my sims to be set in the good old days of the 70s, so LBE was no good. LSE was perfect!

Disappointing route. Felt it was an opportunity missed to get right some of the mistakes in L2B and WCW.

At end of the day it's your choice but if you have never seen LSE, go with that first as not only is it a better detailed route, it has a great selection of stock to go with it.

And judging from the videos from their web site, the new West Coast Express (London - Brum) uses the awful track from ECS as well.
