Hi all,
have now got somewhere with this activity.
Purchased last week the 66 pack from MT.
I'm just getting error message in train store now.
Error: - Item No. 1
The following File was not found
File: '37229DRS\37229DRSAI.ENG'
Warning: - Item No. 2
The following file contains a 'Wagon' parameter that is different to the file name
(They should be identical)
This will cause MSTS errors when reloading a saved Activity
Folder: 'TRAINS\TRAINSET'
File: 'ONECl321\ONECl321mid1.WAG'
Desc: 'FGEcl321mid1'
Warning: - Item No. 3
The following file contains a 'Wagon' parameter that is different to the file name

Folder: 'TRAINS\TRAINSET'
File: 'ONECl321\ONECl321mid2_pant.WAG'
Desc: 'FGECl321mid2_pant'
Has anyone got any ideas at all?
Many Thanks
Andy

Well, I'm getting nearer. I had to change the .eng file in the Cl321 (how did anyone ever get this loco to work out of the box when the file is obviously faulty) and swapped out the class37 by editing the .act file. Everything loaded fine this time. Except that is, as Coxster pointed out, a few of the locos had incorrect sound files (again, how did anyone expect these to work)
Now my problem is one of msts memory. I'm running a 256mb card and 1gb of ram with the latest bin patch and all sliders on full but this activity is so intense. How many static locos at Ipswich? I lost count. And virtually all of them are full locos no wonder my comp is struggling. Mind you. It looks nice. So now I have an hour or so in front of me using route riter to create proper # files and swapping them in. Should be ok when I've finished though.

Let us know if you get this one working. I tried changing everything with Conbuilder with other stuff I had in my Trainset Dir, but gave up as life's too short!codrivermike wrote:Well, I'm getting nearer. Right. Class 321 sorted. The first line of the .wag files of both of the mid wagons is incorrect.
Open the .wag file and you will see:
Wagon ( FGECl321mid2_pant
Type ( Carriage )
WagonShape ( FGECl321mid2_pant.s )
That first entry should be the same as the file name so change it to:
Wagon ( ONECl321mid2_pant
Type ( Carriage )
WagonShape ( FGECl321mid2_pant.s )
Note: Just change the first line. Not the WagonShape line.
Now. The Class 37 AI. I couldn't sort this for some reason what ever I changed didn't work. So I used route riter to create a proper AI # loco and then went into the .act file, found the entry for
Engine (
UiD ( 1 )
EngineData ( 37229DRSAI 37229DRS )
And changed that to
Engine (
UiD ( 1 )
EngineData ( #37229DRS 37229DRS )
Next I tried loading the activity and lo and behold, it didn't crash. Well apart from loads of missing sms files but I'll get to that in a minute. The activity ran ok but some of the scenery and parts of some of the loco were hazy or even lacking any colour. For example, a rake of very nice MT containers were completely black. I put this down to the memory being overloaded with 14 static engines and lots of wagons all in one area. So, having already made 37229 into a proper # engine I set about the remaining locos in the yard. Oh and I also opened the activity in the editor and removed the static consist of containers.
Now the activity ran a lot smoother (well ok, more that 6fps) but there were still the issues of the missing sms files. One of these was the ML60044. I can't remember the others but I just went through each .eng file and found some had gp38 as their sounds but no path to the sound file. There I just edited to the common sounds folder.
Ok. Now everything works and I've got as far as Colchester without problems. I would imagine there are better ways of resolving the problems but these changes worked for me. It's just such a shame that an activity that promised so much is so fraught with problems. The same can be said of the faulty locos, wether it's incorrect wagon perameters or dodgy sound files.
Looking back I realise that it would have been better still if I had made all those static locos in Ipswich yard into $ unpowered versions thereby freeing up even more memory but I guess that's just another lesson learnt.
