Strike Action by Eastern Region Guards Headed off !

Post by coxy64 »

Today Strike Action has be headed off by Management on MSTS's Eastern Region.

Freight Guards on MSTS's Eastern Region had intended to hold a number of one day walkouts!..... Why you may ask?

Due to the fact they were being asked to undertake their duties on Unfitted Freight Trains without any form of heating being provided.

MSTS RMT Spokesman Bob Crown said
"This is just to much to expect from Management, with the colder weather just around the corner, that our Members are expected to travel great distances without any form of heating being provided. What do they want us to do jump up and down to keep warm".

Management keen to avoid any sort of dispute deceided to put their best 2 Rolling Stock Technicians on the case.
Gary Cox and Dave Roles(Kerry) were appointed to overcome the looming situation.
The pictures below show what has been done to prevent the Strike!

Freight Brake Vans in MSTS can now be fitted with heating facillites for Guards by altering the Wag file to an Eng file and adding smoke effects to the Brakes Chimmney.
All the other unneeded data such as power and brake settings is removed.
See what you think from the pictures.

I will approach a missing Member from UKTrainsim, Phil Easton if it is possible to upload my Brake Van repaints including this mod.

Of course the other option is to introduce 100% D.O.O

Please post all your comments here on this subject, another first for MSTS.

Gary....................................

How quaint... A garden Shed on a flatbed trailer :-)

Looks good, and the smoke.

Does this mean we can have smoke coming out of anything - how about a Buffet Car when for when they've burnt the toast!

Hi Steve,

At the moment the answer is yes, it's early days but so far the results are looking good, only black smoke at the moment, which is ideal for your toast :D

They do come in weird shapes and forms.
The brake van does look good though.

If it's a ENG file does that mean it can pull trains as opposed as a trailer?

How about huge wadges of cigarette smoke wafting out of all the open windows of smoking carriages? Or better yet... wait till the train stops at a station and have huge wadges of smoke pour out when the doors are 'opened'. Could the cylinder . effect be used for this?

I'd have thought being coupled to a wagon full of molten lava would have provided sufficient warmth... perhaps that smoke is coming from the scorched shed.

Pizza companies now using Trains to deliver it's food?

Imagine every road had track instead of tarmac.....

Would be nice to see smoke come out of doors in a smoking carrage

I have no idea what this post means, but Gary and myself discussed the idea and this is the results, I have no knowledge of it being done before, if it has then it's just pure coincidence, please don't infer that I have copied someone elses work.
