waiting time at signals

Against all odds ive finally managed to set up an activity on the Cannock route and in my enthusiasm decided to set up some waiting time at various signals, after all it is only a local goods, the problem is I set a waiting time of 30 secs on the outlet signal of Bescot yard and sat there for 10 mins with the signal staying at red, The same has happened at Rugeley on another activity, the trouble is, they cannot be passed at danger as it ends the game. Am I doing something wrong when placing waiting times at signals

The wait times for the player service has no effect at all. It only works for AI services. You must have fully crossed the wait point in order to regain the onward path. Try moving the wait point further away from the signal. Sometimes you need to edge forward a touch to force MSTS to give you the path back.
If you are trying to use the wait point to allow another train to pass you, this cannot be achieve with a single wait point - only with multiple wait points. Ive been over this a lot in the last day or so on the forum - try a search for multiple wait points.

'Wait points' as I recall are not what they seem; if my memory serves correctly all they do is add a delay in the timetable and the option to display a message; one of the default activities on the Japanese tourist line has a couple for the passengers to go rubbernecking.
If you want points that will delay your train and allow other events (like an AI train to overtake you) to happen, you need multiple reverse points.

Hi
Wyefielder...Barry is correct...unless your using the Bin patch.
Then as Laurie has posted a number of times, you need 5 waitpoints of 1 sec followed by a waitpoint of the number of seconds you want to wait.
Cheers

You can use multiple wait points in Pre Bin installations, but they dont cause any wait at all for the player or AI services, they merely break the onward path to give another a chance of grabbing it
