HELP MY TRAIN SIM HAS DIED

When I went to load msts I got an error message saying msts needs hardware accelaration and refuses to work. I got a new dvd player, becuase I found my old one was not working, this has had no effect, am I needing to get a new cd of the game
has this happened to anyone else?

Moved here from the ship simulator forum.
The message about MSTS needing hardware acceleration is related to your graphics card. What sort of card is it and does it support hardware acceleration ?

I got a built in graphics card on the mother board, I do not remember what sort, train sim owrked before with this card, flight sim works and so does ship sim? now I am confused.

Start / Run dxdiag and under the Display tab make sure that all Acceleration options are Enabled.
Also set the Sound 1 / 2 Hardware Accelerations to Full !
Having done that then run the mprofile.exe in the Train Simulator folder to remind MSTS what graphics and driver are installed !
