Network Rail RHTT

Post by edsolis »

Hello,

I have seen this new add-on at the download library...

<img height=300 width= 400 src="http://members.uktrainsim.com/getthumbs ... 687abff9"/>

...but I don't know what Rail Head Treatment means exactly.

What kind of treatment is that? Would anybody please explain it to me?

Thank you,

High pressure water jets to blast leaves off the rail head and the option of adding some sort of 'paste' to the rail head to improve adhesion during the leaf fall period.

Dan

yes, the one in the download libray is the high pressure water version. also in real life there is another version of the RHTT that speads a substance called sandite ( a mixture of sand, aluminium and adhesive) to help with traction during leaf fall

from the one ive seen floating round cardiff at night

its either a 66 at each end with one of each car featured in that download.

the EWS 66s can be replaced by a DRS class 20/3 at each end or a DRS 37depending on what region you want to use it on

2 x DRS 66s top 'n' tailing the RHTT based at Inverness. Would look right at home on Highland Mainline...

Real life timings are shocking for an activity though, 90 minutes at Dalwhinnie anyone? :roll:
