Hello,
Im new here as this is my first post however, i think im in the right place for such a query. Ive recently bought a new PC, P4 2.2Gig GeForce4 ti4400, which runs the game as smooth as i could ever have hoped for coming from a P3 500mhz rig. The problem i have is with the sound. I have SB Audigy with inspire 5.1 Speakers. Whilst inside the train the sound is awesome with a truely deep rumble when in motion however, as soon as i go outside the train in any view the sound is silent. Well almost anyway, on the S&C route i can here the loco slightly hissing and thats it. Ive messed with audigy settings with no luck so far and so here i am in hope of an answer to my situation.
Thanks in advance to anyone who even takes time to read this post and especially to anyone who can help.

Have you checked the sound quality settings and levels in the Sim?

If you use the "2" view and Cntrl right arrow so the camera is pointing at the tender or the car behind the loco, can you hear the sound of the loco?
That happened to me on my SoundBlaster Live 5.1 with 5.1 speakers.
I had to mess around with the sound card's effects settings until I found one that worked.
I now have MSTS on a machine with an Audigy and haven't had any problems with this one (yet).
Try changing the Audigy settings back to the defaults (there's a button somewhere in the Audigy software that does that).

Hey,
Yes robin i checked those and made no difference when altered.
Will try what you have suggested latimers and no i dont get any loco sounds in 2 view or even in 4 as the train passes.
Thanks for responding guys, much appreciated.
