I think most of it is because of a dislike of EB.
It really does annoy me when members put other people or products down.
You need to remember that the purpose of these fora is not simply to act as a back-slapping exercise in fawning praise. Criticism - where put in a reasonable way - is equally valid, particularly with commercial products where profits are earned. I certainly don't hate EB (although I recognise that some do). But I do dislike some of their products, for reasons that I'm quite happy to substantiate. With WCE for example, I found the scenery - both the quality and extent of it - to be poor. I hear this has been upgraded by EB so naturally I'm interested in looking at the new route as it should hopefully address the reasons why I dislike the two original routes.

That's just my own opinion of course, but it's stated in a reasonable way and I'm entitled to it :D .

Cheers
Ashley

If I didn't like EB products would I have bought London to Brighton, London to Brighton addon pack and Brighton, to Portsmouth, also would I have bought ECE pt1 and Pt2 I think not.

What gets me is after shelling out £60 odd then haveing to pay a further £24.00, if you pay the list price for just getting what is a cross country route how many trains an hour go down the route from Three Bridges to Ford about 2.

In past I've always said how good EB is and I will still be buying the Midland Mainline Route and the West Coast route which I believe will be out early next year.

Hi Micheal , That was the original posting, I have all the EB CDs and what I dont want is to buy one that is going to wipe out all the activies I have for them and then leave me with three CDs which are no good, now if all the activites are compatable and will run on the new extended route ,well that's a different ball game and I would be on the pre-ordering list.

Hi Mike

Like you, I've bought all three - LBE, WCE and the LBE add-on. I can justify spending the extra money on the forthcoming route by asking myself whether or not it offers a real improvement over what I have now.

If I think yes, the track is better and the quality of the scenery is improved, I'll probably buy it, on the basis that i'll enjoy it and that it may finally give me what I really was hoping for in the original packs.

If no, then I wouldn't want to add to what I've already spent, so i'd cut my losses and not buy it.

The point is, either way the choice as to whether I buy it rests with me. It's what I end up with that counts and how much value I place on the upgrades. Activities can always be written or re-written - it's the route itself that counts!

Cheers
Ashley!

Hi Ron
Its my understanding this new 'joined up' route is a standalone...so it will leave the original routes alone.
I own the WCW but have never installed it.

Hi Ron,

As far as I know the new route isn't compatable with the older ones so we would be left with 3 cd's that are of no use.

They have altered Brighton Station, and Ford where the Arun Valley line comes in onto the Portsmouth route and of course Three Bridges.
