I love Pete's activities, but if the comments referred to were those of Dave Bran, I couldn't see the problem - it just struck me as constructive criticism that, like others, was later partially disproved, I couldn't see Dave being anything but polite and helpful in his post.

These my own, personal, thoughts as a member of the forum, not as a moderator.
I think his post was meant to be supportive, not critical! He has suggested ways in which Pete could improve the presentation of the activity so that even novices could be able to get the activity up and running, with ease.
Read through his post again, and look out for the positive comments that Dave makes!
The only serious criticism that I can make of Dave's post is that I think he assumed that it was Pete's first activity, which it obviously isn't!
I know that any criticism of your work can be very demoralising....
(Try teaching a class of thirty children with two Ofsted inspectors sat at the back, scribbling furiously on their clipboards as they analyse your every word and action and then tear your lesson to pieces afterwards. Not once, but two or three times a day, for four days! They aren't there to give constructive criticism, either!)
.... in this case I think that Dave did not post to "nitpick" or "count rivets", at all, but was just trying to be helpful.
I haven't downloaded any of Pete's activities as I don't have any of the routes that they are written for, but it's obvious from the support that he has had from members of the forum, that they are valued and appreciated by many people. It would be a great shame if they were to be withdrawn just because of this!

I've read through all the posts in this thread and the associated, original thread, a couple of times today, and have come to the same conclusion as Alex (allypally).allypally wrote:I love Pete's activities, but if the comments referred to were those of Dave Bran, I couldn't see the problem - it just struck me as constructive criticism that, like others, was later partially disproved, I couldn't see Dave being anything but polite and helpful in his post.
