MSTS and non-standard resolutions

Is there any way to get MSTS to run in a resolution other than those in the settings? I have a laptop with a 1280x800 screen, so when I run it in 1024x768 I have borders on either side of the screen. I'm not a fan of the "shop window syndrome" so stretching isn't an option for me. It's no real problem since most of the screen is covered, would just be nice to have the extra space used.

That's the down side of running old programs on a widescreen monitor - my notebook's the same. The only way you can use the entire screen is to accept a dstorted image but I think this looks dreadful with MSTS so I've learned to live with the black borders!

Yeah I didn't want a wide LCD in the first place but that seems to be all that's available now except for the most basic laptops.

One possible solution, if your laptop supports this, would be to buy a seconnd monitor. Windows XP and modern graphics cards allow you to use two monitors in tandem - so you could run your mainstream programs on your laptop screen and MSTS on the extension.
