MSTS File JP2sintrshed.sd missing

Post by LocoLes »

I selected an engine shed that I would like to use on my route, from the default routes, but found MSTS File JP2sintrshed.sd is missing from my default routes and on the MSTS disks.
Could someone please tell me how to create an sd file.
I see it needs.
ESD_Detail_Level ( ? )
ESD_Alternative_Texture ( ? )
ESD_Bounding_Box (?)
Can these be interpreted from Shape-Viewer figures?

Run the route through route riter as its a default shape Route riter can find an alternate one of the same name.

It helps to keep all the 6 default route's as new route's that have been release within the last 12 months still use default stuff.

If you have Route_Riter you will probably find it in Route_Riter\StuffitPack\Stuffit along with a load of other files. I found it by using the Windows Search facility. Just why those items are there, heavens only knows, as I rarely use Route_Riter or its accessories.

My MSTS Routes folder Japan2>Shapes has JP2sintrshed.s but not an sd file.

Whilst I too have a file JP2sintrshed.sd in the Stuffit folder. when opened it contains only JP2sintrshed.s

Hi John,

The .sd files in the Route_Riter\StuffitPack\Stuffit folder are all the missing .sd files from MSTS which were not distributed with the original version of MSTS. If you use Route-Riter to set up a new route, then these are added to the default files used by the new route and it gives you the extra files to use in your route.

However, it is a good source for missing .sd files for anyone, these files were part of Jim Ward's EzStuff.bat which old MSTS users will remember was required to copy ALL of the default shapes into early downloaded routes before I wrote Route-Riter and routes came with the InstallMe.bat which only copied over the default shapes which were actually required.

I'm not arguing (just explaining why I'm right).

Thank you all for your help.
I found the engine shed with the aid of a program called Hitchhikers Guide to MSTS Objects, which gave me the files I needed.
I then went into a separate Train Simulator_Default I have, and found that it only had JP2sintrshed.s and no sd file. I then checked my Route_Riter Common files, which are on another, drive and found the same there. (The shed appears not to have been used in any of the default routes.)
I did a full windows search in the hope someone had created an sd file with no results, but as you suggested I found it in the Route_Riter folder under Stuffitpack/Stuffed. Why the search didn’t pick it I don’t know.
Thank you again.

Thanks for that Mike, it just goes to show how much some of us don't know about MSTS after all.
