I second That.
(5411 ran on the Radley/Abingdon Branch 1943) As for reskin I would like to see a BR_WR Crimson version of Robin Howell's B Set.
Keep up the good work.

Wait until the stock is approved and your wish will be granted

Shouldn't be long now..........

Here's a preview of some of the coaches included. Some of it is available elsewhere in downloads and on Robin's CD but its here in easy dowloadble for too for reference. The fantastic clestory stock's here too.

A 54XX- if someone was willing to do one I'd be more than willing to help with drawings/textures etc.

That’s Great David.
I wonder if with Robin’s permission you could do some of the clestory coaches in dirty engineering black. As this was a common sight parked up at Radley.
I believe Robin Howell had a 54xx on his list to do but we have not heard from him for some time.
I wonder if Reg Furness would like to take up the challenge when he is not to busy making his exigent GWR routes.
Thank you again David.

These are probably the last thing I'll do for a while, as I need to concentrate on Uni stuff for now, but i won't stop anyone else from doing them..............

Thanks for the favourable comments!

I would have thought Reg's existing Pannier would do, or is it not auto fitted?

Auto fitting ain't the problem- on the exterior the gears not visible apart from around the couplings. 74XX is same as the 64/54 but non-auto.

The 54XX/64XX/74XX series differ quite a bit visually to a 57XX like Reg's. the top of the tanks are flat accross the boiler top. Cab is different and no toolbox on the running plate.

I'm sure there's other details too, but basics are the same I think the tanks are very similar, wheels are the same diameter, as is the boiler and basic chassis, so adapting a 57XX in a modelling programme into a 54/64 would be quite simple.

In the 1930s Swindon found it necessary to replace a number of older Pannier tanks which had been auto fitted for branch line work. They used Pannier tank No 2080 as a guinea pig and modified it to take 5ft 2ins wheels. More in keeping with a passenger loco than goods. Consequently it had large splashers so the pannier tanks were slightly smaller.
This large wheeled Pannier proved such a success a whole new batch where ordered numbering 5400-19 (2080 became 5400 but was replaced by a new build later)

Stock is now available, enjoy...............

A large wheel pannier will have to await a new model- but I'd be more than willing to apply the same textures as to my other models.

Thank you. Looking forward to the re-release of the Bala Hub CD, but all the stock that was recently made available looks very impressive and should make it possible to run trains as could actually be seen on the Ruabon-Barmouth line from the 20's to the early 60's. Now if only a few Hawksworth coaches could be added.....

Well done!

Marcus Boon

I have one question about the GWR Moguls: would it be possible to remove the "portholes" in the cab above the firebox? I think these were plated over by the GWR in the twenties.

I'll have a look at that with a patch, it shoudl be easy enough by editing the alpha channels. I'll check if it was done though first.

Thanks for the complements. I though the original CD was good but let down a bit by the appropriatness of the stock- but with more stuff becomming available i thought to do some locally allocated locs and create a real time warp on the PC.

A few Hawksworth coaches wouldn't go amiss but compared to before there's now a lot more exGWR coaches around. A freeeware manor (coast and Ruab-Bar) and dukedog (for the coast) would be nice too, as well as the 54/64 panniers- but never the less a much better representation of the line can be made now.
