What a terrific video this is really looking foward to it arriving also a surprise for me as i did not realise that Clacton was even included in the route i thought it was Colchester and Southend only.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Manningtree-Harwich Town is there too, as is Thorpe-le-Soken to Walton-on-the-Naze (single track branch off the Clacton line), Southend and Southminster. The short line to St Botolphs near Colchester on the Clacton line is there as well.

And it's all lovely. :)

Fraps is your friend! Capture live sound and video from DirectX games etc. You need a fairly fast system (mine's an Athlon XP4000+ with 2GB RAM and a couple of 10,000RPM SATA hard disks. Fraps is $30-40(ish) to register.

I use Adobe Premiere (Elements) for video editing. The free Windows Media Encoder is used to make WMVs, and Helix Producer (free version) from Real Player.

Oh, and you need a fair bit of patience. :)

Looking fantastic well done. I think this has got to be the route ive been most looking foward to out of all i think. Can i ask a question? ive looked on the route map of this route and ive noticed that colchester town station isn't there. Is this station on the route or is it not. I ask this question because i live at kirby cross and one of the services ive been looking foward to trying is the walton on the naze to colchester town which i have coaught alot of the past few years i must say. Any way well done and thanks. cheers all :D

I assume 'Colchester Town' is St Botolphs Street in the route - I'm not hugely familiar with the branchlines off the GE mainline in real life.

Edit: and, as if to prove it:

St Botolphs was renamed 'Colchester Town' at some point between the 1990's and today.

And to be fair, St Botolphs is a stupid name ! ;-)

The good people of Colchester might not think so.
Colchester town station,
St. Botolphs corner,
Colchester. CO2 7EF.

May I remind recent posters on this thread...and in fact all UKTS members ......that swearing in NOT allowed on the UKTS forum. Item 5 of the Forum Code of Conduct clearly states so.

The free version is good, I think it just has something like "Recorded with Fraps" appearing on the screen and it records at a lower resolution.

Worth downloading and having a go, I was so impressed I upgraded to the full version ages ago.

On a similar note, you can record your windows screen with Microsoft Windows Encoder 9, available as a free download from the Microsoft site. You need to remember to turn your PC graphics hardware accelleration of though for it to work.
