I never understood why some folk have problems with Norton as long as you install it ok and update with the lastest definitions (live updates)

No problems

since i had my desktop pc some 2 years ago with Norton Internet Security

ive only ever had one virues as far as i can remember and norton soon sort that out

and i leave my desktop on 24/7 and connect to the internet,No problems

i would use a Internet Security Suite anyday than just a stand alone Virus/firewall like some people use

Norton does do a good job but it seriously slows down your PC. I've seen this even on machines with 512MB RAM. The 2005 and 2006 versions and any version of NIS are even worse.
