I wish I was up an Alnmouth today, or any of the towns around there...(or maybe Whitley bay or Whitby)....it's really nice so it would be great on the beaches.basildd wrote:Sea breeze at Alnmouth?goingnorth wrote:Which line did they run on then?

I'm stuck in my secret route builder's castle I'm afraid.
PS I think the tree is still there last time I looked...

The real back of beyond has got so be if you take the roads from the east coast (around the NE) and drive west.....there just ain't nothing there! It's a very much forgotten part of England and Scotland, most of the places are worth visiting too especially around the Yorkshire dales, but north of then it's forgotten. Places like Alston are worth a look and along the Northumbrian coast. No traffic either much. Lots of Castles and big houses if you like that sort of thing.
