Do you have the ELR you could use 37418's cad as a source of info.

just take a bunch of random screenshot's of the Cabview and use them to design you cab.

Food of thought the copyright wouldnt be valid outside the MSTS modelling as MSTS stuff cannot be incorperated into Kuju. the modeling would be your own work the Cabview Screenshot's would just be a template for you to copy.

Hi g0fthick

Thats a really good looking model, nice to see what a real 3D artist can do, I never knew the first thing about it, my priority was to get the best result I could in the sim, with very limited knowledge, I know my models are riddled with bugs. Having said that would it help you to look at the 3ds file for my 37, I think the dimensions are reasonably good, it available for download...

Keep up the good work, looking foward to seeing some textures go on it.

I can't actually open that file, which is a damn nuisance as that would be really helpful, i'm running 3DS Max 8, if you could somehow get it into a readable format i'd be highly appreciative.

It's readable enough for me to download, install and open in 3DS's little brother G Max.

And I am thick :D

But i don't use Gmax, and seeing as KRS wont support it, i'd be pretty thick to build my model in it :D

.3ds files lose stuff like mesh weights in G Max.

If the above imports to G Max with a few ommisions, I'd have thought it would import to any 3DS program.

If it won't open directly, try importing.

Cheers

Fixed it, i'll start work on fine tuning dimensions.

Edit

After exhaustive editting and construction, i think the nose is finally sorted. I've also made some pretty major modifications to the overall model.

Still lots to do and i know there are bugs in the model, all of these are still being ironed out.

I still think that the nose looks too long. Shouldn't the central axel box be directly under the cab door? I think if you put the windscreens in, that would make a lot of difference and give you more of a feel for how the proportions should be.

Tinkered a bit more, and now it should be good, i've uploaded a side shot so it's easier to judge the nose by.

You havn't got the taper on the nose.

The front should be narrower.

Have a look at the plan view on the drawing I posted.

How can you tell how narrow it is from a side shot :S
