Activity Analysis - a problem.
When I use Activity Analysis, I find that some of the locos and wagons which I have in the Trainset folder (and corresponding consists in the Consists folder), do not appear. This is meaning that I have to do lots of 'replacements' for stock which does exist.
Can anyone offer any explanation of this please?
Many thanks,
Stuart.

Hi
Could it simply be that the missing stock items are stored in Trainstore, rendering them invisible to AA?
Cheers

Only the obvious ones so far Stuart...
1) have you registrered AA? If not, its functions are fairly limited (first three routes only I think)
2) have you tried removing and re-installing it? Do you get any specific error messages?
Cheers

Ashley,
I had sent an email to Ernst re. the problem with A.A., and he asked me to send a copy of the .wag and .eng files of a wagon and locomotive that A.A. was not picking up.
When I looked at a couple of stock files which A.A. is missing, they didn't have a .wag (wagon) or .eng (locomotive) file at all.
Is it necessary to have these files before A.A. will 'see' them? Incidentally, the items are all downloaded from UKTrainsim and installed as per instructions in the Read-Me.
Maybe this is important in solving the problem!
Stuart.

Correct, the ENG and WAG files are specifically what AA is looking for and if they're not there, then the loco is invisible as far as AA is concerned.
This is another symptom of trainstore though as that's what it does - which stock has missing files? Look in the storage folder and see if it's in there?
Matt.

Hi again Stuart
If the missing eng and wag files really are missing, you'll just need to download those items from the library again (or re0install if they're commercial stuff). But if they appear in the Train Store folder, and as you say you'd already unstored evrything first, I think it's safe to say the problem is with Trainstore. If so I'd suggest removing it (from within the program itself, not the windows "add & remove programs" applet) and re-install it.
Cheers

Yes, I had to use System Restore after big problems with my machine. When I look at the Trainset folders, I find there are many of them which are missing the .wag or .eng files, so this must be the cause of the problems referred to above.
I am now setting about re-downloading the relevant files.
Many thanks to everyone who has helped me with this problem.
Stuart.

Tony Formoso does, I believe, have a utility which will 'recover' apparently missing files 'lost' by a System Restore...
