Scottish Central CD

Post by themightyjag »

Hi guys

I'm totally new to MSTS - just played it for the first time last night! I'm really interested in all the addons available, in particular SCottish Central. I have a query about the community CD - does this contain all the files that are available for download here, or are there some here that are additions? I ask this as the CD description says it goes from Edinburgh to Inverkeithing, while the Route Registry shows a much greater area.

Thanks

Hi - welcome to the forums.

Although the Scottish Central route covers a large area (Edinburgh & Glasgow through to Dundee) only the section between Edinburgh & Inverkeithing has scenery. However, I think you'll find it's worth getting anyway as what scenery is in place is stunning.

I understand that Making Tracks are taking up the route as a commercila venture, as far as updating and adding scenery to other sections of the route are concerned - you might want to try their own forums for more info on this.

Cheers
Ashley

Many thanks Ashley.

Just to clarify - does the CD include all the files available here, including the updates? I think I'll get the CD regardless but just want to check!

Thanks

Yes the cd will have everything you need to install the route, you will not need any other files from this site to run the route.

But there are other activities that you can download from the activities section, but make sure you read the read me that comes with the activities as some will require you to download the stock needed to run the activites.

If you need any more advice please ask.

ps forgot to mention welcome to the forums.

CD has a lot of good trains as well. The sceneried part is very good and very accurate. It's well worth getting.

Hi again mightyjag

You'll really enjoy driving over the Forth Bridge - one of my all-time favourite MSTS experiences!

The CD's 20-20 Vision activity in particular is also challenging and very enjoyable.

cheers
