Common.Loads

Post by ka959 »

Is anyone able to clue me in on where to get the Common.loads folder "RCH_Open2" from - what download is needed to get this to be added to the Common.Loads folder itself ?

I have what I assume is the latest Common.Loads download, from the file library, and a file that was for additional loads, but I still seem to be getting the same error when trying to start the activity I created the other day, using the Ashburton Branch route for MSTS.

I think this route is really good, albeit truncated, but it can be easy to make a few good activities for it, which I'm doing at the moment.

I've made a Traffic file for this activity I'm working on at the moment, and used a few of the same, grey Mineral wagon on this train, but I now find that the right folder needed in the Common.Loads folder, isn't there.

It's called "RCH_Open2" as far as I'm aware, and should have the .s file named "RCHcoal1.s" inside it. This file is inside the "RCH_Open" folder that's inside the Common.Loads folder, but there's no "RCH_Open2" folder at all, and I suspect I haven't downloaded the right mineral wagon for it, or the right file that might have additions for the Common.Loads folder.

So, does anyone please happen to have the answer to this dilemma ? I'd be most appreciative for the chance to get this activity working without having to change the mineral wagons if at all possible. I just hope I've managed to make myself clear here, without adding to the confusion ! :-? Cheers.

Regards...

There is no RCH_open2 folder.

Can you tell me the folder and the .wag file names of the wagon you are using?

It could be a mistake in the freight animation line.

Not quite correct Ian. I also have an RCH_open2 folder although I have not yet worked out whether any stock uses it.

It is a very old folder and has the following "Adding Loads.txt" file in it:
These loads are slightly smaller than RCH open1 and extend the range of wagons you can use.

The stone, ballast and spoil loads will only half fill the wagon as these loads were too heavy for a full load.

To use these loads...

Open the wagon folder and make a copy of the empty wagon .wag file.
Rename the copy and the first line of the file by adding _loadname.

eg emptywagon_stone.wag

SIMISA@@@@@@@@@@JINX0D0t______

Wagon ( emptywagon_stone
Id ( ? )
Type ( Freight )

Add one of these lines after the Type line (Cut and Paste to avoid errors)

FreightAnim ( ..\\common.Loads\\RCH_open2\\RCHstone.S 0.0 3.0 0 )

FreightAnim ( ..\\common.Loads\\RCH_open2\\RCHanthracite.S 0.0 3.0 0 )

FreightAnim ( ..\\common.Loads\\RCH_open2\\RCHballast.S 0.0 3.0 0 )

FreightAnim ( ..\\common.Loads\\RCH_open2\\RCHChalk.S 0.0 3.0 0 )

FreightAnim ( ..\\common.Loads\\RCH_open2\\RCHcoal1.S 0.0 3.0 0 )

FreightAnim ( ..\\common.Loads\\RCH_open2\\RCHscrap.S 0.0 3.0 0 )

FreightAnim ( ..\\common.Loads\\RCH_open2\\RCHspoil.S 0.0 3.0 0 )

NOTE
~~~~
Sticking to this renaming comvention will avoid missing wagon errors if one of these loaded wagons is used in an activity.
These models are freeware. You are free to use them as you wish.
However I take no responsibilty if you mess up your installation of MSTS or worse.
Wagon builders may add them to their wagons and upload them but may not change or replace any existing files in the common.loads folder without my or the original author's permission. Additional loads are welcome.
Must be an early version that has been replaced.
That read me also refers to RCH_open1 which I also do not have.
If someone can send me these folders, I will update the common.loads file.
Can someone also try removing these folders from the common.loads folder and then run Conbuilder/Tests/Missing Files to see if we can track down the wagons that use them?
Most of my uploads have been updated to include the Common.Loads so I suspect its an old version of something.
I do not have an RCH_open1 folder but am e-mailing the contents of RCH_open2 to you.
My Comon Loads folder has an RCH_open folder inside it but without any 1 or 2 suffix. it is however the "half load" file referred to. It is both undated and has no link to the author(s)
Thanks for the email David.
There should be 2 RCH folders.
RCH_1923 covers my own 16ft 6in mineral wagons.
RCH_open is slightly longer and covers Ian Morgan's 8plankers and lots of the repaints.
There are two others with similar loads.
15ft_open and 16ft open.
RCH_Wagon2 seems to suit a 15ft 6in wagon but I've tested it in a few likely wagons and it doesn't fit any.
We'll just have to wait for ka959 to tell us what wagon is causing the error.
Got it sussed now.
It's BRMINERAL01 and BRMINERAL02.
These wagons dissapeared from the library and Matt asked if anyone had them.
I sent him my versions with the extra loads.
No other wagons used these loads and I thought they were redundant and removed them.
Since these are popular wagons, I have uploaded the loads again.
Thanks to Dave Forrest for helping sort this out and sending the files.
