Non UK Routes

Post by geoffhocking »

With very good but only a few finished UK routes, what are your recommendations for european routes.
I have just installed the JB Swedish route and from first impressions it looks very good, now to find some rolling stock.
I would appricate any comments re good routes worth installing.

there is a special european discussion section in the forum at:

http://www.trains-station.com

with a few euro folks in it who probably can recommend the best stuff from their respective countries. :)

Albula - swiss metre gauge - look at screenshots for my activities
Schwarzwald - DB line through Black Forest - very scenic
Arlbergbahn2 - electrified Innsbruck to St. Anton.

If you're willing to spend a little money, the two Protrain routes are well worth buying.

My personal favourite is Port Ogden and Northern Version 5 (much improved with signals and many miles of extra routes). Its possible to put you loco in the depot at Stevens Point, set off and drive for hours without coming back to where you were - make sure you take a packed lunch with you! Its also freeware. :D

erm, I should point out that its not European, it is based on a fictional US route but what the hell, it is wherever you want it to be and there is nothing in it that makes it look non European... :) The landscape reminds me very much of Andorra (the principality between the French and Spanish borders in the South West. Andorra doesn't have a railway butif it did, it would definitely look like this!
