I desperatly need a FREE PHP/MySQL Host

Post by MichaelGreenhill »

Howdy all

I have a website (railways orientated, or course :D) and I need a free PHP/MySQL host. Eventually, once i've got a steady income, I'll have a PROPER website, but until then, I need a FREE one.

My site is currently at FreeWebs.com, but im pretty sure that they're not PHP/MySQL.

Thanks in advance.

Have a look at http://www.uklinux.net - it's free providing you dial in through them at least an hour per month

Yea thanks, but I need a Windows-based one, and a FREE one (may sound very stingy, but im not the one that pays the internet bills, and my parents go ape sh*t if i do stuff like that)

when i've got a steady income (should by by November this year, as then i'm legally allowed to get a job) i'll get a domain name and build my proper sites (gonna be four sites in total, comedy, railways, computers and my homepage)

If you had no problems with them (assuming your in Windows), then I doubt that I'll have any problems.

it was a very temperemental host up until about 2 months ago, then it seemed to get all the problems ironed out and was pretty solid although it can come across as a little flakey when things like the 'request password' feature don't work! oh, another plus: no banners.

and yes, i use windows.

An ISP is an ISP - it doesn't matter what computer make or OS you connect with!

But anyway it's irrelevant as you're not in the UK - apologies!

Yeah I've got the phpBB group forums (ukts ones) and they're php, so I need a PHP/MySQL compatible host, as you need MySQL to run the forums.
I'm also looking into using PHP for all my future web page developments
