Commercial add-ons for £4.97 !!

Post by lateknight »

PC World are currently offering 2 cool MSTS addons for only £4.97 each.

London & South East
&
LNER Pacifics

These are, unfortunately, only available through their website as a 'collect@store' items. Availability might be a bit patchy - I did have to travel 18 miles to find a store that stocks them.
If your lucky enough to find a nearby stockist, reserve them using the collect@store link. Give them an hour- and go collect, taking your reservation number with you. Easy.
Click on this (rather lengthy) link;

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/ ... =undefined

Good luck

After a little research (and not realising how few stores have this) I have compiled a list of stores - as of 06/07/06 - who are still listed as having this on their collect@store program

London & South East;

Solihull
Manchester
Lancaster
Gloucester
Carmarthen
Newcastle upon tyne
Sellyoak (??)

LNER Pacifics;

Solihull (the only one showing both)
Stirling
Glasgow
Croydon
Kidderminster

Thats it
So they are as rare as hens teeth

If you live anywhere near (or know someone that does), good luck to you!!

Hi
Glasgow and Solihull for 'LNER Pacifics'.....I didn't search for LSE...I've already got it. :P
Interesting post though, from this 'new' member 8) ,and a bit of a contradiction in another of his posts where he claims he's got lots of money, can afford any addon and thinks the EB ECE parts 1 and 2 are good value.
Cheers

Only add-ons in Virgin Oxford Street(the largest Virgin Megastore in the UK) are several copies of LTV Eire Mining Company Trainset for £24.99 each! I'll say no more on that I think, except I think it's the exact same copies that were there a few years ago!

That's the route with the 1 in 20 gradients, more than 10 miles between point nodes and unmodified couplings...so getting from one end t'other without modding the stock is not possible.

One has to laugh...
Did you not actually read my post?
Do you not think my reply was a bit tongue in cheek? (after all you were insinuating that I possibly had connections with EB - just because I happened to mention that I thought E.C.E was a good add-on).

Please re-read the post again - and see if you can 'have a shot' at who I was trying to 'pass' myself of as.
It would be crass for anybody to 'seriously' come on here and boast about having shedloads of money, wouldn't it?.

I just so happens that everywhere I have lived, has been in places that are either on or very near to the ECML. So I'm bound to have a bit of a soft spot for it.

The previous post was entitled ECE2 (i think)

http://www.game.co.uk have a Great Electrics add on listed at £2.99 and a couple of others for £4.99 inc the Fires and Wires Electrics pack.

All currently out of stock though.

For flight sim fans there's a fighter pilot add on listed at 49p.

Whilst no doubt helpful to a few, these tips aboou cheap add-ons in some stores are frustrating to the majority who find that there are no local branches, or that those that exist do not have the Add-ons. ( or the staff do not know where they are, is not uncommon )

Hi
All it is, is stock being cleared.
Therefore if a store has a copy(ies), you can buy it (them) at that price.
It doesn't mean the addon will be re-stocked at that price, or that the RRP has been reduced.
The only difference is that PC World tell you about it on their website, as they obviously have store-wide computer controlled stock levels.
My son works in a 'game type' shop....and they haven't stocked any train sim addons for months...they don't sell in the quantities they like to move.
ie one of the latest PC games shifted 300 odd copies in a week, and Xbox type games sell even more.
This could well change with KRS, however its interesting that there's no advance notification, of a Christmas release......yet.
Cheers
