Which are the five books in your collection that you like best and why? For me it's...
5)...Great Western Branch Line Termini by Paul Karau. This book influenced the only model railway that I came close to finishing. It is a well thumbed copy.
4)...The Tal-y-llyn Railway by J.I.C Boyd. A fantastic collection of evocative black and white photo's.
3)...A Day in the Life of British Rail edited by Murray Brown. 24 hrs in the life of British Rail in 1989. Reminds me of my train spotting days in a time before the dreaded new generation of multiple units, standardisation of loco's and privitisation took over. Some great pictures as well.
2)...(A bit of a cheat here!) The railway paintings of Terence Cuneo/Alan Fearnley/Don Breckon and the Guild of Railway Artists Great Western Collection. OK, I know that's four books but I love railway paintings. Alan Fearnley has signed my copy of his book so that's an added bonus.
1)...Eric Treacy Railway Photographer. What can be said to describe this magnificent collection of black and white photo's showing steam in all its glory.
Your favorite railway books.

Personally I like my railway ghost stories and my book of Terence Cuneo paintings (I love trying to find the mice on them).
