Hello all....

For some reason the wheel animation on steam locos has gone haywire....

when my Black5 steam loco pulls into the station the wheels continue to rotate at a very fast rate....train stops and the wheels continue to spin....

any help on solving this issue will be appreciated.......

Thanks in advance...

Hi Brian, welcome to the forums.

Is it your player loco experiencing the problem or does it occur with one of the other locos in the activity? If it's the latter, you just need to create an AI version of the loco in Route Riter and swap it for the one you're using. That should return the wheel rotation speed to normal.

This is an error of MSTS, for all AI locomotives the wheel radius as is programmed in the engine file is used as circumference. Route-Riter making an # AI engine out of the playable engine knows this error and will multiply the radius with 2 pi. Or you could make the coreection yourself with a text editor.

If its the train your driving thats got the problem, dont open the regulator fully, start off in the area of 25%, and as you speed up, bring the reverse back, and increase the regulator slowly.

Over time, you will learn all the tricks regarding steam engine, just practice

Its actually happening on all Ai Steam trains ....the player trains are ok...

I have only just noticed this so im not sure if ive always had this problem or not.....

I made an activity for the ece route.....(trainspotting ).....and its only happening on the steam trains......the diesls and electrics are all OK i think...
