Anyone been following this MSTS fix?

Post by lateagain »

There's been a thread on TS.com about this and the patch is uploaded. The description speaks for itself.
FROM TS.COMS LIBRARY

Microsoft Train Simulator - Misc.
MSTS ingame.sms Update

[ Download | View ]
Name: ingame.zip Size: 328,313 Date: 06-07-2006
MSTS ingame.sms Update. A corrected replacement for the ingame.sms file that is used by all routes. The ingame.sms file included with MSTS has incorrect path designations for 13 .wav files. The correction of the ingame.sms file makes a huge difference. By Bob Edwards.

Any opinions, feedback or cautions?

Hi Geoff
I've literally only just started to read threads on TS ( not too impressed)
I read that thread as basically he was talking rubbish...........and doing the old rediscovering the wheel trick (now I know where a visitor to these forums gets it).
The last post shows that the problem with that route, is the WS tiles are all wrong, and a fix is uploaded.
I also tried to read the buffers on....but again there wasn't any new developments.
I'm fairly surprised at the lack of technical posts....no where near as active as these forums....and these are a shadow of their former selves.
Cheers
Jon

PS What was more interesting was the Link to Hawks site for Version 2 L&PS and the paddle steamer...thats what I'm playing with tonight. :P

Had the track monitor and other bits and bobs but none installed at the moment.

Adjusted the lighting as usual to give a better day but no .... a complete MSTS neanderthal :D

Hi
It looks great....and kind of reminded me of the 'Lincoln castle'...a quick reskin and it would be great for steaming away from Barton on the new super Mid East + Route.... :P

Paddle Steamer? now you're talking! Couldn't find the link to the Hawks site you mentioned in the TS.com "other sites" section - is it somewhere in their file library ? (which I always have trouble accessing)

cheers

To be fair John, it appears to be just an updated .sms file.
No more a fix than almost anything else you have installed.

There is a big difference between the paddle steamer illustrated and the Humber ferries. Those ferries had side paddle wheels, not a single stern wheel
