codrivermike (and all those here) - many thanks for the Cam Hack.

One query - in the Coupling_Cam is it possible to move the camera closer to the buffer beam?
I assumed the third parameter in CameraOffset would move it, but it doesn't seem to do anything...

It is a strange one that. When I deciding on the particular parameters I found that I could move it up, down, in and out but not backwards & forwards. It actually varies slightly with the rolling stock too.
I chose those settings because it gives a shunters eye view especially when you pan it with the mouse.
Glad you like the file though.

Best regards

this new Cam Hack is brilliant - thanks to all those involved.

just one small question: for us, the 4 view is set slightly too low and we miss the ability to pull further back - can anyone advise how to edit the dat file to adjust these?

thanks

The problem there is that the zoomed effect of the #4 view accentuates the angles. You can pull back by using the down key or, alternatively, you could edit the FOV value in the .dat file. It is currently set at 20 to give the zoomed effect but a higher number would bring you further out but then you would loose the zoom.
I chose the figures to give an angle as close to a practical eye level as I could to make it a proper spotters cam. However the level of route terrain can also have an effect.
Glad you like it though.

Michael

Thanks for that helpful explanation.

Could you tell which parameters I would need to change to raise the point-of-view? I've looked at dat file but nothing looks obvious!

Thanks for your help

codrivermike - thanks for the reply. I was trying to see if I could tweak the point of view to correspond to this picture...

Having said that, the settings are spot on. I'm getting great value from your new Coupling_Cam as the shunter's eye view is really immersive - a whole new perspective!

Off topic I know, but wasn't life a lot nicer then ?
