45110 blah, blah, blah - mind you, wouldn't that be a Mark 1 FO 'throne' at the front of the train?
Lost your love of life? Too much apple pie!

I've an old piccy of D27, which also had spilt panels, so I'm with Jon, the likelyhood of D29 being similar is pretty good.jbilton wrote: Hi Chris
Sounds great....I was only guessing based on D30 and D31 (my first peak ever) having split flat panels.
I did look for a photo but couldn't find one.
Cheers
Jon
Ohh, nice work, Chris BTW.

If you don't mind my input can I suggest that the weathering will look better if it's done using a slightly faded version of the base blue and some pretty neutral mud colours. It may be the screen grabs but it looks a bit green in those you posted.
Geoff.
That looks better. I feel a real fraud "Art Directing" your efforts (when I ought to be teaching myself to do itBaily9531 wrote:hows this?

That looks "The Mutts Nuts"! A really scruffy one would be nice. I know the preservation guys polish the paint off theirs but hundreds of miles revenue earning runs didn't give that opportunity. A copy of the photo posted earlier would be great. I noticed the yellow detail round the cab on that. Would that be difficult to do?Baily9531 wrote:More progress, had a few requests as well!
anyway heres a lightly weathered Class 44, 2,

Anything BR Blue that was used on the real routes in Mid East UK would be good. I think you're going to love Micks reworking. Long way to go yet but it is extended considerably and has plenty of branches apart from the main drag to York.
BTW if you can recommend a title (book) that covers that era and that area it would be much appreciated. The trouble is that most attention on the ECML revolves around the crack steam expresses or the Deltics. Finding much diesel reference is proving a little difficult.
