Hi David
rlmathers wrote:For those who may want to convert to selectable and auto night cab, Howard Payton cabs come complete with a set of night textures.
Create a sub-folder ( Night ) in common.cab or cabview.
Place all the night textures, (all have suffix `n` at the end of the name) in this folder.
Rename, removing the `n` suffix on the end of each file name.
E.g. Front1024n.ace becomes Front1024.ace in the new Night folder.
Modify the cvf file following the instructions set out in the pdf file that came with the patch.

Kindest regards
Ray
I`ll try again in BOLD convert to selectable and auto night cab

This looks cool; a "patched" MSTS in the vein of TTDPatch (Transport Tycoon Deluxe). 8) I look forward to seeing the possibilities develop; one wonders what else can be done! :)

Reverse Cabview

Post by amadis »

Hi
I've modified a fev .cvf and it works perfectly on Loco's, not so good on EMU/DMU. Here's an example of a modified .cvf for a common cab class 37. Hope this helps.

Tr_CabViewFile (
CabViewType ( 2 )
CabViewFile ( ../../Common.Cab/37cab/37front1024.ace )
CabViewWindow ( 0 0 640 480 )
CabViewWindowFile ( ../../Common.Cab/37cab/37front1024.ace )
Position ( -0.9 3.21 6.5 )
Direction ( 12.5 0 0 )
CabViewFile ( ../../Common.Cab/37cab/37left1024.ace )
CabViewWindow ( 0 0 640 480 )
CabViewWindowFile ( ../../Common.Cab/37cab/37left1024.ace )
Position ( 0 3.21 5 )
Direction ( 0 -60 0 )
CabViewFile ( ../../Common.Cab/37cab/37right1024.ace )
CabViewWindow ( 0 0 640 480 )
CabViewWindowFile ( ../../Common.Cab/37cab/37right1024.ace )
Position ( 0 3.21 5 )
Direction ( 10 60 0 )
Position ( 0.9 3.21 -6.5 )
Direction ( 12.5 180 0 )
Position ( -0 3.21 -5 )
Direction ( 0 -240 0 )
Position ( -0 3.21 -5 )
Direction ( 10 240 0 )

EngineData ( 37411EWS )
CabViewControls ( 17
The control also work, just select forward from either end.

precisions :

juste copy at the begin of cabview file the six lines "Position" and "Direction" and put these lines before the line EngineData (

In each line Position , inverse positive or negative of the left number and the right number . e.g. if -0.9 put 0.9 or if 5 put -5 ...

In each line Direction , addition 180 at the middle number . If 0 put 180 , if 25 put 205 , if -60 put -240 ....

OK ?

Hi ,

I look in my trainset and I see an ELR_31556Dutch ......
In cabview folder , I have a class31.cvf.
It's an aliased cabviewfile to a common.cab subfolder named "31cabV1"

There is the begin of the cabview file adapted at patch 1.5.4 :

SIMISA@@@@@@@@@@JINX0h0t______

Tr_CabViewFile (
CabViewType ( 2 )
CabViewFile ( ..\\..\\Common.cab\\31cabV1\\Cabview\\C31front1024.ace )
CabViewWindow ( 0 0 640 480 )
CabViewWindowFile ( ..\\..\\Common.cab\\31cabV1\\Cabview\\31front1024.ace )
Position ( -0.5 3.5 5 )
Direction ( 12 0 0 )
CabViewFile ( ..\\..\\Common.cab\\31cabV1\\Cabview\\31left1024.ace )
CabViewWindow ( 0 0 640 480 )
CabViewWindowFile ( ..\\..\\Common.cab\\31cabV1\\Cabview\\31left1024.ace )
Position ( 0 3 5 )
Direction ( 0 -70 0 )
CabViewFile ( ..\\..\\Common.cab\\31cabV1\\Cabview\\31right1024.ace )
CabViewWindow ( 0 0 640 480 )
CabViewWindowFile ( ..\\..\\Common.cab\\31cabV1\\Cabview\\31right1024.ace )
Position ( 0 3 0 )
Direction ( 10 55 0 )

Position ( 0.5 3.5 -5 )
Direction ( 12 180 0 )
Position ( 0 3 -5 )
Direction ( 0 -250 0 )
Position ( 0 3 0 )
Direction ( 10 -235 0 )

EngineData ( 31418_CB )
CabViewControls ( 14

The blue lines are the new lines necessairy to make a rear cab ......

Hi
Has anyone had any sucess with the revised lighting?
It seems to work fine on half bright but on full bright with a headlight all lights are illuminated.
Cheers

We would have a Lomo Patch (Chris Sawyer's Locomotion) too had the people at these forums not been so scared to edit the exe.
