We now have three routes all with the same route ID: UK1
Original Mideast
Steam Mideast
Modern Mideast
Each on installation, overwriting any existing route with the same ID.
We all know how often any readme is read before installations.
Not only that, it limits the choice of routes.
Can someone explain how the activity unpacker will identify the correct route for the activities. I am thinking of a beginner downloading activities.
I sincerely hope the Mideast Plus will have it`s own unique route ID.
Kindest regards
Ray

Ray,
Have no fears- MidEastPlus will have the route ID of MidEastPlus not UK1. Plus is an entirely new route with virtually no part of the original that has not been mofified.
If there are further updates to Plus the route ID will still remain the same. Its assumed that you will want the updates and not want to keep separate copies of the previous versions. The route has been planned so that existing paths for activities in MidEastPlus will still be valid on future updates should I ever manage any.
The latest CD version of MidEastUK has exactly the same track layout as previous patched versions. I beleive this to be the case with the steam version as well except that the signalling has been replaced with semaphores.

Hi Mick
Thank you for confirming the route ID.
Your skills, time and effort are appreciated greatly in building the route.
You are quite right, each and everyone of the MideastUK routes has the same route layout, different eras. Such a pity they all have the same route ID.
However, from a users point of view it is certainly possible to identify each route individually and have them available for choice in the game.
Any activities downloaded are then edited for the individual route.
I wish you every success with the build, I am really looking forward to its release.

I have renamed each version of the route and made a fake UK1 route folder
This contains empty Activities, Paths, Services and Traffic folders
and the UK1.tdb and UK1.trk files.
This allows me to unpack activities and copy the folders to the renamed route folder.
To avoid confusion, a copy of the fake UK1 route folder is stored in each renamed route folder and only moved to the main Routes folder when required.
