Severn Valley Railway Add-in pack problem

Post by robertuk702 »

Hi,

Does anyone ever have trouble with the first activity 'Autumn Evening Run' on the Severn Valley Railway?

I have trouble with it crashing as I approach Bridgnorth. Has anyone ever suffered with this? Is there a way around it?

I have reduced the best graphics switch down by two and it still fails.

Will reinstalling it solve it?

Please let know what you think.

Thank you.

Regards,

Robert.

Hi Robert
It has been a while since I did the activities on the SVR
But I will have a go at the act mentioned and let you know if I encounter the same problem.
Kind Regards Stephen.

I would suggest looking in the now locked BATS forum on UKTS here or go the the BATS forum http://www.bluearrowtsforums.info

Hi John
I just decided to give the activity a try because no other member had responded to the original enquiry.
Anyway thankyou for drawing my attention to the BATS forum.
Kind Regards Stephen.

Hi Stephen,

No criticism was implied - I don't have SVR and since nobody else had replied I thought it was the sensible thing to point at the 2 places where more information might be found. Thanks for running the activity and reporting back - if I have a product and someone reports an issue then I do the same (time permitting).

Our colleagues at BATS run a very informative and supportive forum - I visit it most days for the latest on the products I have bought and the free downloads I have downloaded.

Kindest regards

I just ran both the "A Winter Evening Run" and "Autumn South Bound" on my version with no problems, but that is the one both HAWK and I have worked on.

I seem to remember that before starting to work on it to fix the frozen point blades I downloaded an update for it which dealt with activities I think, but can not remember where from, BATS or JUST TRAINS ?

Hi,
Just ran the A Winter Evening Run which I presume is the activity Robert meant and it ran okay although there is quite a few stutters just before reaching the 10mph before Bridgnorth with my settings fairly low. Try turning yours down Robert.
There is a fix from:

http://www.justtrains.net/
Free downloads.
But cant remember what it fixes.

Hi have turned it down two notches. Will try it tomorrow turning it down a couple more, if i get chance. I know its one of the most graphic intensive add-in packs there is for MSTS.

Thank you for your informaton. It is most helpful.

Regards.

This is what it fixes, a couple of activities, a few sounds and changes to some world files.

I don't know about that !

Try the Freeware WUPPER-EXPRESS 10, STADTBAHN-U97, SEAVIEW-4, NEW YORK & JERSEY CITY and Payware TML STUDIOS BERLIN U-BAHN, to mention just a few of far superior routes I have got !

Try turning your Quantity of Sounds down to Low - that usually has the most beneficial effect in the graphically intensive parts.

Otto, he said "graphic intensive" - no reference to or relevance to "far superior" at all. :-?

Will try the lower sound and graphic settings.

I have installed the updates and reinstalled them but they are for a couple of other activities. One I think fixes a stuck at red signal problem.

Anyways will have a try at the Winter Evening Run in a few mins after brekky.

Thank you for your help.

Regards.

Worked

Post by robertuk702 »

Reducing the settings of sound and graphics meant I was able to complete the activity.

When I said graphics intensive earlier, I should really mean resource intensive.

Right....next go.....choices choices.

Bala hub route - is there any updates for this by the way? Only the class 25 activity from Bala Jn to Barmouth is causing me hassle trying to get onto the right track to reverse onto the train.

Thank you and I look forward to your further comments.

Regards.
