Ashburton is an absolute gem.

Thank you Reg for your route Ashburton. This is what I was hoping MSTS would be like when I bought it all those years ago.An exceptionaly beautiful route that runs as smooth as silk. The installation went without a hitch and I just took a very leisurely ride taking in the great scenery and then spent a couple of hours shunting between Buckfast and Ashburton. Not one hassle not one stutter. I can't see how to include a screenshot,I might be able to put one in the screenshot forum.

I'll second that, it's great. Just knock up a consist and go explore the route :)

Something funny about that crossing in Ashburton branch.
the gates are across the road until just before the train reaches the crossing, then they close across the track.
Tried the crossing fix from Utils, hasn't helped.
When heading slowly towards Asburton, the gates will flick open at one point but shut across the track before the train arrives.

Ashburton crossing gates

Post by wilkinson »

I've got the same problem as Tripman. I contacted Reg, and he says no-one else has reported it and that he has not had any trouble with the gates. I too have applied the fix with no success.
Can anyone else shed some light, please?

As one of the BETA testers, it seemes to of slipped by without me noticing (dough!!!!) as I was more concerned with the signaling (I know that there's some issues regarding the signals) :-?

So I will be making a patch to resolve these issues, & if there are anymore issues, please PM me

Cheers...

I have no problem with the crossing gates they work fine
but when i run AI traffic on the main line the signals are set at Caution and the trains crawl past these then speed up not what you want when starting to climb up Daignton or Rattery Banks !

Bit confused here. I've just downloaded and installed Ashburton and it looks very nice but all I have is a station (Totnes I think) and about half a mile of track in each direction then the map ends.

Does anyone have any ideas or have I just missed something daft?.

Thanks.

Hi Steve,
You need to throw two left points in quick succession by the signal box a few hundred yards after leaving Tortness.

You've applied the 'fix' to the default Settle & Carlisle route- This flips the object file rather than correcting the misplacement problem, and means that when other routes copy this file across it is then flipped, as opposed to used in the right direction.

Hi Chris.
Yes I did apply the fix to Settle & Carlisle route, so does that mean it's one or the other. To see the Ashburton gates open correctly
must I go back to seeing the cars and vans passing through the
Settle & Carlisle gates?

Hi everyone
I just thought I would also like to say well done to the author of Ashburton.
It really is a wonderful route easy to install and runs without a hitch.
This is a route that would make a "Showcase" at Uk Trainsim Live.
Kind Regards Stephen.
