I can't believe this

Post by prairie4566 »

so the problem is in the add in's, which we all knew already to be honest.

If you've just put all the same stuff back in then you've not solved the problem.

You need to add things almost one at a time. And test it.
You could also run something like route riter or conbuilder, I suspect it will find the problems for you.

I'll try one at a time, and maybe invest in Route Riter :D Thanks

Although MSTS won't load...

I've uninstalled NVR but some of the stuff was still in, and the only stuff I can think of that's now in is in the GLOBAL folder...no idea what belongs to the NVR install    Yes, the usual freeware stuff worked before now, but for some reason reinstalling route add ons brings up the error. Any ideas?

Without knowing the error its a bit tricky to say really.
'The error' is not as descriptive as it could be ;-)

Am I / we stuck? :-? :( :x I know an MSTS reinstall is out of the question, but it's the only thing I can think of...don't like the thought of losing my downloads though. :o :o :o

Train Store will tell you what errors are present when you attempt to set up an explore or an activity which contains a problem. It also efffectively hides any problem files that you have when they are stored, so making problem solving much easier.

One problem which could give you the problem you describe is an old TSECTION.DAT which could be causing a problem with a new route which requires the latest TSECTION.DAT. If this is the case, if you only have the default routes present, then MSTS would run.

Perhaps one of the 're-installations' that you did installed an old version of TSECTION.DAT?

Hi
Its as Tony has posted above........NVR installs an old Tsection (well the route has been out 2 years).
You'll find the newer previous Tsection has been renamed 'tsection.prenvr'
This was discusssed only last week in these forums BTW.
Cheers
Jon

Hello again

Might install the new Tsection. I've looked in the GLOBAL folder and I happen to have an old LSE (London & SE) Tsection too. That route won't load either... ATM, of course, the queue is about 51 - it's that Ashburton Branch  :D
