I have photos of several 1960's trains which might make interesting activities for the S&C 1930's route. Does anyone have any operational details on the following- ie timings, paths, stopping points, and consists.
The Fifteen Guinea Special of 1968.
The Eden Valley-Carlisle freight.
Carlisle to Hellifield local passenger, which ran with milk tanks for Appleby
Any private siding operations on the line

Yes the 15 guinea special used 4 locos on the run, which were as follows:-longbow wrote:I have photos of several 1960's trains which might make interesting activities for the S&C 1930's route. Black 5: 45110 Liverpool- Manchester
Brit: 70013 Oliver Cromwell Manchester - Carlisle
Black 5's 44781 and 44871 over the S&C.
45110 back to Liverpool
I have reskinned Duckweeds black 5's as the 2 that pulled the train over the S&C and included a consist with 1 of them for the train (liveries and coach types are perfect matches). Both are on this site, as for 70013 perhaps someone could do a model of that for the activity. I am not sure what else ran that day on the route but if you do it you will need to find a way to put a lot of people along the line.

Thanks. I have the two Black 5s but not the consist, which seems to have been blue/grey amd maroon Mk1s - could you email it to me?
Do you have any info on timings, stops etc for the Black 5 leg over the S&C? Were there any "photo runs", like more recent specials? Any help appreciated.
I see what you mean about the people on that day. From the photos the Dales looked like Hyde Park on a Sunday!
