Dorset Coast V3

Post by ccsdc »

For those of you that have been following the progress, we have managed to resolve the route moving problem, which was holding up the issue of version 3.

The reason for this post is to get a new name for the route as obviously the route now extends somewhat further than the geographical area that its name suggests!

As I have said before I want to keep the overall title Dorset Coast, because of the confusion it causes when a route name changes, as happened with Thames-Mersey. So the name will be:

Dorset Coast Version 3
Subtitle (to be chosen)

The CD team have come up with the 5 choices above, but if anyone has any better ideas, let me know and I shall add it to the poll.

Dave

Personally I like London, Reading & DC, simply because it describes where it goes and eliminates a number of the "Does it go to........?" questions!

"Dorset Coast V3: South Western Main Line" works best for me, and describes it pretty precisely.

Well, to me the SWML is actually the line to Exeter. But it would do the job nicely on this.

The ELRs (Engineers Line References) for that is "BML" for London - Bournemouth (Bournemouth Main Line), and then "BTW" (Bournmeouth to Weymouth) for... go on, guess! The Exeter Line west of Worting Junction is "BAE", which I can't figure out - Basingstoke, Andover, Exeter, possibly.

It is "Basingstoke (Worting Jn) - Exeter St Davids"
BML is "Waterloo (Main Lines) - Weymouth (Bournemouth Main Line)"

Its a nice position to be in as a route builder when all that you are waiting for to upload is the loading screen.

No pressure there at all Thomas. :D :D

I've gone for London, Reading and Dorset Coast - 'does exactly what it says on the tin' :)

Just to get me in the mood again, I've been buzzing up and down DC v2 most of the day in a 442!

Cheers

Not much pressure Dave, perhaps I should sit back, relax, have a nice drink... make sure MSTS crashes a bit, etc.
