Train Store

Post by reginald »

I appear to have a problem with Train Store. After selecting an activity and clicking on run in Easy T/S all goes well ie the loading process happens but instead of opening the Train Simulator screen the MSTS Train Simulator Folder opens instead can someone please give me some advice as to how to over come this problem. I should add that if I open Train Simulator in the normal way ie double click on its icon the activity selected in train store is in situ. I have moved the entire trains foders to drive D: from C: by uninstalling and reinstalling so as to avoid any problems with the registry.

I think you need to explain what you have done in a little more detail.

Your first sentence implies you have a problem with launching MSTS. If so, it looks as though the MSTS Launch parameter is incorrect. You can check the MSTS Launch parameter that Train Store is going to use, and correct it if necessary.

But then you go on to say you moved everything (by uninstalling-reinstalling!) so as NOT to have any Registry problems. I am not sure why?

If you meant uninstall-re-install MSTS, that process is particularly prone to give you incorrect Registry settings.

If you meant uninstall-reinstall Train Store, it wasn't necessary. You can move the Train Store Storage folder with Train Store.

Then you mention that 'the activity selected is in situ'. It isn't clear whether you meant the files are where you expect them to be, or whether you meant the activity works.

So I wonder if perhaps you meant you were trying to move your MSTS installation from one drive to another? If so, the best way to do this is move it with a utility like 'Smart WinMover'. This will move a complete folder structure, AND, change all the necessary Registry settings. It works, I know, I have done it in the past.

There are a few things there to think about. If you need more help, please give a little more information about what you have done, and I will try and help.
