downloads

Many readme's on the downloads reccommend not to delete files once installed but I dont seem to suffer any repercussions when I have deleted these files, and started again to do a redownload.
Is this advice re deleting being over pessermistic or are there problems that do occur.

Possible reason why

Post by larrylane »

You can suffer problems due to one main reason. A lot of people forget to delete the consist files which for some reason used to cause me problems. Basically Train Sim was looking for files that where not there and throwing up error messages. Since deleteing everything to do with the loco being deleted i have not experienced any probs. I guess this is why they recomend not deleting them to be on the safe side (as we all know how funny Train Sim can be at times)

It is being on the safe side a bit, however, once a wagon or loco has been added to a consist or an activity, it is dangerous to delete or rename files as many references need to be tracked down and sorted out.
