UK Routes
As someone who is new to UK routes, can someone here please recommend a truly good route or two? I have just spent nearly a week downloading one here, placed in Scotland, only to find that it appears to be a beta, just in its beginning stages. The only scenery anywhere on the whole thing is around Edinburgh. Needless to say, I'm somewhat disappointed, especially after all the time it took to download. I'd probably be even more upset had I paid for the CD.
Anyway, sorry for the venting. I'm just looking for a good, representative route or two, idealy one located in Scotland, that is complete.
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: UK Routes
Jaffarq - I take it you mean Scottish Central? The superb scenery is from Edinburgh to Inverkeithing, and the Forth Rail Bridge is not to be missed!
Highland Mainline is a a super route and available at the moment.
Also watch out for the CD with Vern Moorhouse's wonderful North Highland and West Highland lines. They're temporarily unavailable while some scenery gets changed, but really excellent, I'd strongly recommend you get them as soon as they are back.
If you have trouble downloading CDs are probably the best bet. At the moment there's quite a lot getting some scenery changed - but when they're back there's something for everyone there and many of them are leagues ahead of some of the stuff you could buy in the shops. What era are you interested in, and do you have a powerful / less powerful comptuer?

If your thinking of the Highland Mainline, can I suggest you wait for the CD version, as it extends from Inverness too Aberdeen

Great to hear that the HML CD will run to Aberdeen - the download version is the most challenging I've 'driven' for quite a while

The Thames-Mersey route looks interesting - but the files in the library are all updates 3.0 and 4.0, requiring version 1.0 be installed first. I've done a few searches, but cannot find 1.0 anywhere. Can you point me in the right direction?daz20red wrote:Dorset coast and thames mersey are also routes i would highly recomend to you.

Thames Mersey is only available on CD.
Sales of these are suspended just now but we are working hard to return it.
If you can make it along to the Brighton or Glasgow shows you may be lucky enough to get a freebie but these may run out so be early.

No it is fully downloadable
Search for 'Merseyside'.
That was its titlle for V1 and V2.
Even easier if you just click on other files by this author 'ccsdc'

Thanks,

On the front UKTS screen, select "Download Library", then "Routes", then in "File Types" select "Route", then you want to select "Merseyside Railways". That contains all of the files for Thames-Mersey.
Which is basically...
