I was thinking the same thing too but this is the closest we'll get to a "completed" ECML. LBE came out around 2003 when most content creators just started coming out with new graphical stuff but it was one of the best routes out at the time. The times have changed and the graphics have improved greatly but Europeanbahn have still chosen that same look from LBE.

EuropeanBahn is an alright company though, they do get the job done when it comes to make route and trains, as everyone's not going to be like Making Tracks who spoils us with these nice trains and scenic routes. Every since MT came in to, everyone's expectations of routes and trains seems to have risen but what do you expect?

At least wait until its out before shredding it, no one is slagging great eastern or Enterprise yet. I personally do have issues with great eastern going by the screenshots and by a past experience, but i will wait until its released and experienced it for myself before i air those views as they could be completly unfounded.

I must admit from the videos and screenshots i didn't think the ROUTE looked half bad.

why slag MT's route off we know they are gonna be great i mean look at the quality of LSE and springfield, the amount of effort to show screenshots and the fact all info on the route is as accurate as anything.

Do you? Its a dangerous assumption to make we all know that screen shots can doctored or cleverly positioned to hide what they don't want you to see. FOR THE RECORD I'm not saying or insinuating that MT have done that Its just a general observation of products in general.

How often does a film look good in the trailer only to find out when you see it that its appalling or vice versa surely you must have bought add ons for MSTS/F sim etc that looked like they were good only to find they did not meet your expectations

Again with east coast we only have the screenshots to go on, screenshots that were taken who know when and on what version of the route.
Surely common courtesy says we wait until its finished and released
before casting aspersions.
Its like a film critic criticising a film as being good or bad before its finished

I can assure you that Great Eastern is, if possible better than LSE is. And thats no disrespect to LSE. The attention to detail in GE makes the route worth buying in my eyes. Im surprised you have commented in the manner you have claiming the screenshots are doctored and we have been down this road before.

It is something that you would need to see in the flesh but i can assure anyone that buys it when its released if they after a realistic route they wont be dissapointed.
I wouldnt work for just anyone and i wouldnt bother going on record to say 'this is great go buy it' as this would be like standing before a firing squad or swinging from a rope by making this statement and it not being true

I firmly believe what our team has achieved with Great Eastern many will try and fail to surpass

This is my opinion and is said on my behalf from looking at the above post
and its not biased
ITS THE TRUTH

Jon, Try READING my post, the bit in the big bold letters, i was trying to make that VERY clear obviously it needs spelling out... oh i thought i did.
i'll do it again The statment i made applies to all products not just Train sim addons but EVERYTHING.

Yes from looking at the screenshots i do have issues but i will buy it, try it then voice them if i feel they are justified, they might not be. i can't be much fairer than that.
the original posting was about lets just wait and see without slagging a product off in this case it was ECE

If you didnt mean it why write it?

And what are the issues you have with it as i would like to clarify them for you?

Nestfilms,

I saw your comments first thing this morning and resisted replying to them, but given the responses they have created I now feel I should say something - and in this case as an individual not a member of MT.

In making the comment above you have backed yourself into a corner of passing criticism on an unreleased product by claiming to have issues based on not only the screenshots but also prior experience. In a public context if you make such veiled comments others are going to look at them as a negative.

It is almost guaranteed that people will bristle and push you to express those reservations if you make such veiled comments in any public arena. It is a fact of life that the more you back pedal and prevaricate after making such a statement and still not stating your point or reservations that people will become more heated. It is very easy to push a potentially reasonable discussion to argument and bad feeling if people are not open and honest from the outset.

If you do in fact have issues with a previous MT product or comments you wish to pass about Enterprise or Great Eastern can I suggest that you either use the MT Forums or the contact email addresses available at http://www.makingtracks-online.co.uk if you prefer to discuss them in private. I make this offer not being aware of any discourse with you in the past.

Best Wishes

Alex

Hi, hope there's no objection to a newcomer adding some thoughts to this subject, just like to say that I've bought, installed and enjoyed LBE, LBE addpack, Brighton-Portsmouth and LSE over the years. All have provided me with many hours of enjoyment and I'm extremely grateful to the producers of this fine software. Sure, I could pick fault here and there and there are definite plus and minuses to each of the titles, such as the fine track detail and textures in LSE as an example. I would add though that in my opinion all the products have been worth every penny spent and as such I have pre-ordered ECE and would be very suprised if I didn't get my moneys worth. So thanks to all those involved in producing these great titles, may the good work continue and can Making Tracks release Great eastern as soon as poss please!

Before I make my point, I feel it necacery to point out that I am not postsing on behalf of EB (in fact, I am no longer asociated with EB, or any other commercial group)

I'd just like give james a 'pat on the back' - it's good to see someone who appreciates the diversity of products on offer for MSTS :)

And another small point - Just a friendly statement that I shan't be giving out details as to why I'm not with EB anymore - it's a private matter, and I'm sure the mods don't want the hastle either!

Cheers

Gaz
