Have a GeForce 7800GT? - Please Read

Are you able to run MSTS OK with this card???

Can you minimise at the menu pages via the minus box and then maximise again unscathed and still operable??

I have a GeForce 7800GT on an Athlon 4600 X2, MSI K8 SLI motherboard setup. (but not yet running SLI, single card only)

Under MSTS, while Alt/Tab works OK, and minimise works, maximising back up a minimised MSTS crashes the system black screen, running game sound, no mouse/key action.

Graphics Driver tested as per CD supplied with system and as per latest set off website, no difference.

MSTS will sit minimised on desktop as long as no action taken to maximise.

However, on pressing Windows Key, when taskbar pulls up, instead of listing the name for the GAME (normally started from shortcut with parameter ending -rungame), it lists the name for the TOOLS option ( not active, but normally selected by a different shortcut ending -runeditor), then in a few seconds goes to send/don't send shutdown of MSTS.

So, I load the GAME, minimise the GAME, and when attempting to maximise the GAME, the system tries to restore the TOOLS menu, and crashes...............

Oh eck!!!

I've run MSTS on a total of three desktops and one laptop since I bought it, to be honest the minimise/maximise process has been a bit flaky on all of them, so I tend to avoid swappibg away from MSTS if at all possible.

I find that if you tab - alt out of MSTS its ok.
If you minimze it with the minimize button, its not so good !

I'll go with Buffy on that :) My PC is now a bit long in the tooth at 5 years old, but i still cant minimise or maximise MSTS. However, I can alt/tab to the desktop and MSTS will always come back by clicking it in the taskbar afterwards :)

MMMMMMMMM, Interesting

As my previous FIVE computers running MSTS and several others I have used with it loaded have Alt/Tab'd AND minimised from minus boxes on menus perfectly with no issues at all, when this one didn't, it seemed a unique fault........clearly not.............thanks all for info.

What OS are you running Dave, on this and your other computers? I found under Win 98SE that the minus button worked and so did the restore but with XP the minus button minimises but the restore doesn't work. Under XP I now use a button on my keyboard that's labelled "start" to minimise and the restore works every time.
