It was the last year I also have tons of info on workings similar to that as I spent 3 weeks solid up there at one point. Many activities featuring workings like the above will appear from myself on the CD.

Hi!

I am working on selected scheduled trains operated by Scotrail as well as the sleeper.

Now a couple of questions...

Modern day goods services, I know cement and the stuff to make cement is hauled to Inverness but what else? I heard logs may be but is that a modern day activity these days? Anything else? Would that be like "Enterprise" services or dedicated trains?

Any times and frequency would be appreciated

Thanks!!!

Bob

There is/was a regular container train to Safeway (whose store adjoins the station at Inverness). Haven't seen it lately, so whether it still runs now Safeway is Morrisons I don't know.

Thanks

OK cool...Are the 170's the only DMU's used on the line or are there 158's as well? I have the drivers eye view of the route and only saw 170's as opposing DMU's on the trip featured

Thanks

Mostly 170s nowadays - you do see the odd 158 (especially on the services that run through to Kyle), and occasionally a 170 set coupled to a 158 set.

For the current freight situation, see my reply on this thread: http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?t=48343

No timber currently runs on the HML, only between Inverness and Kinbrace (Far North Line), although I'm not sure if this is still running.
Also, no intermodal services run on the HML anymore (Safeway/Tesco). This has ceased, for the moment. The only freight currently is oil tanks (for Lairg), parcels vans (Walsall > Mossend > Inverness and return) and Freightliner cement.

As for passenger workings, 158s and 170s are used. The reason 158s are used on Kyle services is because this line requires locos/units with RETB (Radio Electronic Token Block), and 170s are not equipped with this.

The sleeper is a 67 and 8 coaches, 6 sleeping coaches and 2 Mark 2s (seating).

Thank You

Go to the main page. Click on the "Download Library" button, then on the "Route" link, then the "Highland Mainline" link. Then you'll see all the files.

Cheers,
Herbert
