As you may have noticed on the forum from other posts, I'm working on the Huntingdon and Peterborough station buildings, for Rob's GNEReastcoast route (the freeware club version).
The first bit of building that I've got to an almost complete stage, is the toilet block/ticket office/staff block, on Platform 2 of Huntingdon, and is shown in the image below:
<img src="http://www.simuk.freeserve.co.uk/tsmwor ... ophoto.jpg" alt="Huntingdon - basic model and texture, for the GNEReastcoast route" border="0" height="550" width="750">
I'm a bit of a novice at both TSM, and texturing, so would welcome any comments before I go ahead and get the whole station done, but so far I'm pretty happy with it. Still need to add details to both the texture and the model (chimneys for instance) but it's only 20polys after conversion, so shouldn't cause any framerate problems when it's part of the final station.

The looks great, you say its 20 polys have you got rid of the unseen poly's on the top and bottom of the main building that will knock it down a bit

Well done.
For those that haven't tried it what you need is good source photography so you can manipulate a decent texture in photoshop or PSP. The models for buildings or all quite basic, so that's the key.
Thing is getting the photograpy you need.
But I urge anyone to have a go. With a decent camera it's still hard work for a start, but you get there in the end as proven above.
