problems with dorset coast

Post by andylloyd »

Hi all,
have just installed the above.

Have loaded onto MSTS some activities for this.

Whenever I try to run an activity through trainstore, MSTS starts to load the intro page then for some reason it crashes back to the desktop with no error message.

Please can you help.

With Thanks

Andy

I draw your attention to this line in the Readme V1.0.txt:

In addition, you must have UKFineScale track version 3.1.6.0 ( http://www.trainsimfiles.com/products/ukfs/ ) and the standardised TSection.dat file, build 29 or later.

Can you run anything in explore mode? (And I assume that you have those two things installed?)

Ensure you have TEXTURED SKY ticked in the MSTS Options box for Dorset Coast will fail to load.

Just a suggestion: Have you checked the route with Route-Riter to see if any files are missing?

Dissapointing to hear that a couple of users are still experiencing problems with Dorset Coast.

I really can't think what else might be causing these problems beyond what has already been discussed. We know about the fps problems at Soton, but the sim does not crash.

The version on the CD extends the route to Basingstoke, but the Version 1 areas are really untouched apart from some track replacement (Dynatrax for large numbers of small UKFS pieces) around Soton.

Maybe that update will be enough to change things....who knows MSTS is very temperamental, I await the CD
