Problem with running around trains

Post by WSR2005 »

Has anyone else encountered this error?

When I stop at a platform with a passing loop, I run round the train and couple up at the other end. However, the brakes on the train don't come off, so the engine is pulling but the consist isn't moving. Is this supposed to happen, is there a patch or a solution?

Check that they have the same coupling type and more importantly the same brake type.. :o
Use Routeriter for that..

They have the same coupling and braking types because I have hauled the train from a different station. For example, I could drive a train from Settle to Carlisle, but when I run round the train the same thing happens.

Have you got the 1.2 MSTS update.

This corrects the problem of not being able to realease the brake with the front coupling.

If it's got buffers it's Chain.

Hi Ian
I didn't know that........I thought that was why a lot of vacuum stock had to be made through piped?

The reason for making stock thru piped is to release the brakes on any fitted vehicle behind it.

When you shunt off fitted stock MSTS applies the brake and there is no way to "pull the string" to release it.
